1. Who is responsible?
Nook & Note, operating Blind Date With a Book from Amsterdam, is responsible for the processing described here. Privacy questions can be sent through our contact form.
2. Information we process
- Name, email address, shipping and billing address.
- Order choices, including book language, genre, age category, personalisation name and books to avoid.
- Payment status, amount and Stripe transaction identifiers. We do not receive full card details.
- Messages submitted through the contact form and information needed to resolve questions, returns or complaints.
- Limited technical and security information in server logs.
- Cart, language and cookie-notice information stored locally in the browser.
3. Why we use it
We use data to process payment, fulfil and deliver orders, personalise products, send confirmations, answer messages, prevent misuse, maintain records and meet legal and tax obligations. The legal bases are performance of the purchase contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating the shop and consent where required.
4. Service providers
Necessary information may be shared with Stripe, Hostinger, our email provider and postal or courier services. Stripe may process data outside the European Economic Area using appropriate safeguards. Google Fonts is loaded from Google servers, which may receive technical information such as an IP address.
5. Retention
Order and accounting records are retained for the period required by Dutch law, generally seven years. Contact-form messages and support correspondence are kept only as long as reasonably necessary. Browser storage remains until it is cleared or removed by the relevant shop action.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability and object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where it is the legal basis. Submit a request through the contact form. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
7. Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the shop or legal requirements change.

2. Welke gegevens verwerken we?
- Naam, e-mailadres, bezorg- en factuuradres.
- Bestelkeuzes, waaronder boektaal, genre, leeftijdscategorie, personalisatienaam en boeken die moeten worden vermeden.
- Betaalstatus, bedrag en Stripe-transactiegegevens. Wij ontvangen geen volledige kaartgegevens.
- Berichten uit het contactformulier en informatie voor vragen, retouren of klachten.
- Beperkte technische en beveiligingsgegevens in serverlogs.
- Winkelmandje, taalkeuze en bevestiging van de cookiemelding in lokale browseropslag.
3. Waarom gebruiken we deze gegevens?
We gebruiken gegevens voor betaling, uitvoering en levering van bestellingen, personalisatie, bevestigingen, beantwoording van berichten, voorkoming van misbruik, administratie en wettelijke en fiscale verplichtingen. De grondslagen zijn uitvoering van de koopovereenkomst, wettelijke verplichtingen, gerechtvaardigde belangen bij het beheren van de shop en toestemming waar nodig.
4. Dienstverleners
Noodzakelijke gegevens kunnen worden gedeeld met Stripe, Hostinger, onze e-mailprovider en post- of koeriersdiensten. Stripe kan gegevens buiten de Europese Economische Ruimte verwerken met passende waarborgen. Google Fonts wordt vanaf Google-servers geladen; daarbij kan technische informatie zoals een IP-adres worden ontvangen.
5. Bewaartermijnen
Bestel- en administratieve gegevens worden gedurende de wettelijk vereiste periode bewaard, doorgaans zeven jaar. Berichten uit het contactformulier en andere correspondentie bewaren we alleen zolang dit redelijkerwijs nodig is. Browseropslag blijft staan totdat deze wordt gewist of door de betreffende shopactie wordt verwijderd.
6. Jouw rechten
Voor zover wettelijk van toepassing kun je verzoeken om inzage, correctie, verwijdering, beperking of overdraagbaarheid en bezwaar maken tegen bepaalde verwerkingen. Toestemming kan worden ingetrokken. Stuur je verzoek via het contactformulier. Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
7. Beveiliging en wijzigingen
We nemen redelijke technische en organisatorische beveiligingsmaatregelen. Geen enkele internetdienst kan absolute veiligheid garanderen. We kunnen deze verklaring aanpassen wanneer de shop of wetgeving verandert.
